My bookshelf
That I like to share.
That I like to share.
I have a list of books I am happy to share. For friends and trusted people, it's simple: name what you'd like, and I'll lend it if it's available. You return it as we agree. You can also ask for books that are currently taken; I'll ask if they are finished or can give it to you if urgent.
For people I don't know, there are 5 simple rules:
Communication goes via e-mail, unless we agree on something else.
I will keep your personal details until you return the book: a picture of your ID card, an e-mail, and a phone number. I will also need a public nickname to write in my chart. Once we are done, I will delete this data.
Deposit: For each book, I have a named deposit that you need to pay before I can give you the book. I will return this deposit, provided you return the book in the same condition.
Deadline: Unless we agree to an extension, you have 60 days to return the book. If you are willing to give a larger deposit, I am willing to give a longer deadline. Once the deadline is due, I will contact you to give you a fair heads-up. Then, a last warning via e-mail. Let's not come to that, but if you fail to return the book, I will charge a delay fee of 10% of the deposit for each 10-day period after my last warning, because you start giving me work I don't want to do. After 60 days from my last warning, I'll consider it embezzlement.
I am not selling books. I'm not a library either. I am not generating income from this service. I have my job and hobbies, and you are not a customer. It is a formalised way of sharing with friends and cool people.
Do you have a rare book? Do you want to share it here? Let me know!
